About the Role

Join the New Porgera Scaffolding Team and play a pivotal role in overseeing the construction, assembly, and dismantling of scaffolding structures at our Process Plant. Based in the Porgera Valley, this position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a dynamic, safety-focused team in a world-class mining environment.                                                                                                                       

About you

The Ideal candidate will possess,

An Advanced Scaffolding ticket from a recognized institution  Minimum of Grade 10 or 12 and Computer literate  7 - 10 years of hands-on scaffolding experience in erection, modification, and dismantling. Dual tickets in Rigging/Scaffolding (highly desirable) Proven leadership and personnel management skills. Strong self-motivation with excellent communication, technical, and leadership skills. Effective planning, weekly scheduling and organizational abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. Computer literacy is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring alignment with project timelines.  Attend weekly planning meetings to schedule daily/ weekly Scaffolding tasks. Ensure all scaffolding activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address any defects.  Lead and train a team of scaffolders, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.  Maintain scaffolding equipment, ensuring regular inspections, repairs, and inventory management.  Coordinate with operating departments to ensure seamless project execution.  Plan and execute tasks effectively using available resources to optimize cost and efficiency. Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures. 

Requirements for Mobilization

This position is open to PNG Citizens Only  Rotation is FIFO, 21 days on and 14 days off Must have an Up to Date Police clearance certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
