The ideal candidate must have:

Degree in Mining/Civil Engineering.5 plus years’ experience in project designs and supervision, ideally in a surface mining environment.Well-developed communication and technical skillsStrong safety focusAbility to work well in a team and meet short term deadlinesAbility to perform duties effectively with minimum supervisionComputer skills in MS Office, AutoCad, Oracle, Minesight, Deswik or similar mine design software experienceStrong project and contractor management skillsStrong report writing and presentation skillsKnowledge and understanding of contract management in the private sector industry Knowledge in (project) cost management

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure different project designs, scheduling and costings  are completed in time and in line with the monthly schedule with all supporting documentation.Ensure project schedules are appropriately developed considering interaction with production schedulesEnsure all projects are closely monitored and managedMaintain engineering designs meet site safety standard and other applicable standards ensuring operational requirements are addressedLiaise with relevant departments in order to complete designs efficiently and effectivelyLiaise with relevant departments/stakeholders in order to complete projects within budget and according to design and planBe willing and able to take on the challenge to act in a senior engineer acting capacity role when incumbent is on field break or extended leaveMaintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & procedures

Mobilization Requirements:

This position is open to PNG Citizens Only Rotation is FIFO, 21 days on site and 14 days offMust have an up-to-date Police clearance certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testFemales are encouraged to apply
