Pool Managers will supervise staff and manage budgets. Oversees beach front and seasonal site managers and facility operations. Department Starting Salary: $49,200 Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: + Responsible for overseeing the safe operation, quality program instruction, patron protection and the emergency response procedures within assigned City of Norfolk Aquatic Facilities. + Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating Aquatic Division programs and daily activities of the facility. + Serves on committees for the planning and marketing of events. Assists in managing the operations of the facility and provides assistance to employees and supervisor. Evaluates programs and daily activities of the facility. Interacts with children, adults, and seniors. + Participates and leads training activities in addition to providing informational materials, directing employees, and contributing to the cultural growth of individuals. + Functioning as a lifeguard at open swims, programs and special events, instructing classes, fitness, developing marketing facilities and program activities and attending workshop and trainings. Education/Experience Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Two years' experience in aquatics management. Additional Information & Requirements + Valid Driver's License. + American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor + CPR and CPR for professional rescue. + First Aid Certification. + Lifeguard Training/Instructor Certification. + AED/Adult CPR Certification. Work Location: City of Norfolk Indoor and Outdoor Pools, Waterfronts Work Hours: Monday to Sunday; 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.; not to exceed 40 hours per week; flexible hours will apply including weekends, holidays, and special events Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus for applications received on or after February 22, 2022. The signing bonus will be paid in two (2) increments: $2,500 upon completion of 60 days of employment, and $2,500 upon completion of your probationary period. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. If you are hired January 1, 2022, or after to a position with Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits, you will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of your salary toward your retirement benefit. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. + The Tuition Assistance Program is established to encourage employees toward continued self-development and education.
