Position Summary:
A Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions. The sleep trainee works under direct supervision of a sleep technician or technologist.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus six months of direct patient care experience or one year of post-secondary education (minimum 2 semesters of college). OR Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology. OR Possession of another healthcare credential/license AND enrollment in and completion of program or ASTEP course and advancement to technician level within 18 months of hire. Completion of, or enrollment in, an ASTEP program or equivalent as approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine/Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists within 18 months of hire. CPR/BLS.
