Bowhead seeks a Police / Law Enforcement Radio / Radio frequency (RF) Telecommunications Systems Specialist to support the Architect of the Capitol’s (AOC) Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Responsibilities

• Receives, inventories, tracks, secures, and issues to new personnel within (72) hours of identification.
• Supports quarterly testing, as required by the AOC Continuity of Operations Government Lead. Conceptualizes and designs a recommended campus-wide two-way Radio communications Telecommunications/RF/IP-based mobility solution.
• Prepares documentation complete with analysis and recommended solution set for end-to-end processes and procedures to prepare current AOC jurisdictions for the radio platform components, platforms, and infrastructure to permit effective radio signal performance and propagation plus voice quality in meeting jurisdiction requirements and metrics.
• Ensures that the current code plugs are programmed for existing portable radios for all AOC jurisdictions to meet the provisions for all necessary connections to various parties and groups to meet requirements for range of operations and coverage.
• Assigns channels and talk groups and tests would need to be performed for each jurisdiction to ensure proper channel mapping for talk groups and changes to channel assignments as necessary including channels intended for connectivity and for monitoring.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in the administration, programming, asset management, spectrum management, operations, and maintenance of a robust police, law enforcement, or military Radio Frequency, Satellite Communications or Mobile Telecommunications systems.
• Must possess professional candor, lateral and hierarchical accountability, and drive toward a unified mission.
• Soft skills, including but not limited to, maturity, patience, composure, and an understanding of decorum are vital in this high visibility program.
• BS in telecommunications, electronics, or a related major.
