We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Project team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least two to three days a week in the office.
PMO Manager
Reporting to the PMO Hub Lead, the PMO Manager is responsible for establishing centralised and workstream-based program planning capability to ensure governance and controls (schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues, reporting, quality) processes and procedures are followed and supported.
The PMO Manager will take a business partnering approach to actively engage and support workstream delivery and business leads to design, track, and manage program outcomes.

In conjunction with the PMO Hub Lead, develop and oversee program standards, tools, processes and quality control for remediation plan design and deliveryProvide timely and accurate program level reporting and insight for schedule, workstream progress/status, resourcing, stakeholder engagement, risks and issues, and dependenciesDevelop and implement program governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective program management practicesCollaborate with program stakeholders to develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.Establish mechanisms for tracking and controlling program progress, risks, and issuesConduct Post Implementation Reviews and ensure continuous improvement of Hub practices to enable timely Remediation Plan outcomesSupport the management and continuous improvement of three ongoing work packages as part of Remediation Plan (Program Governance, Resourcing, Project Assurance), including the design of various underlying PMO protocols and tracking proceduresWhat you need to have:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, preferably within financial services.Experience in Regulatory Remediation Plans (preferable)Experience in program management, with a focus on PMO leadership, preferably in a complex and dynamic organisational environment.Experience in leading large-scale transformation programs is highly desirableProven experience in establishing and leading PMOs, with a deep understanding of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.Excellent verbal and written communicationExcellent time management skillsStrong business acumen and financial skillsPeople management skillsDemonstrated stakeholder management capabilitiesAbility to work effectively across the organisationSelf-motivation with initiative, energy and drive to succeedFlexible approach, thriving on change and innovation, balanced by attention to detail, risk management and structured thinkingWhy join our team:
