Job Description

US Bank is seeking an experienced PMO Lead / Project Manager to join the U.S. Bank Europe Change Team to support and drive Major Change or Strategic Programmes as per European Management Agenda.

This role is for a 18 month fixed term role.

Specifically, this candidate will be required to:

Support the delivery of a large scale Programme of Work, by assuming both Programme Management Office (“PMO”) Lead role and leading specific Workstream activities as required.

Work collaboratively with Workstream Leaders within the Programme to support the effective delivery of Workstream Objectives, through the application of strong Project Management tooling, tracking and reporting.

Develop and maintain key Programme Level Artefacts, allowing for a consolidated view to be provided to Programme Executive Steering.

Assume Secretariat role for Programme Executive Steering.

​Provides direction to project staff assigned to projects and stages within program.

Has an in-depth understanding of and focus on the drivers of growth and profit in the business and where team focus should be

Establishes governance and drives all aspects to ensure that assigned Project(s) is implemented, accepted, and operating effectively.

Serves as a liaison and builds bridges and relationships with sponsoring executives and among different groups.

Works directly with the business line and/or Programme Workstream Leads to understand business objectives and strategies related to project priorities.

Manages communications regarding project and program management practices that create clear, concise requirements in program and project functionality, resourcing, budgets, and timings.

Oversees assigned projects from initial concept through final implementation utilizing approved project methodology/tools and within enterprise standards and guidelines.

Constructs a Project reporting and tracking framework and benchmarks.

Provides oversight to projects to meet established function, quality, cost, and schedule.

Escalates issues and risks to appropriate level.

Plans, develops, and controls moderate to large project/product budgets.

Implementation of required policies and procedures.

Effective risk management and mitigation.

Experience/Qualifications

Experience in PMO Leadership role, in a large scale, multi year Programme of work

Experience of project management

Experience of different project management styles

Payments Industry experience is desirable

Experience of FS regulations and regulatory environment

Experience of a multi-national company preferred

Consultancy experience is desirable

Skills/Disposition

Demonstrated strong project management skills, including those related to core PMO activities

Strong change management disciplines

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

A proven track record in the implementation of effective compliance and control standards

The proven capability to drive projects and programmes

Ability to work on own initiative

Qualifications required to perform your role

Minimum of 8+ years’ experience as a PMO Lead or Project / Program Manager or other role of comparable responsibility

Exceptional interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Formal Project Management Qualification is desirable (PMP, PMI, Prince 2 or equivalent)

Consultancy experience desirable

The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
