PM Freight Handler Supervisor

About the opportunity

As a Supervisor in our StarTrack Road Express team, you will lead and guide a team of Freight Handlers on the PM shift. Your leadership will drive key operational outcomes while improving processes and ensuring we meet customer service standards. The role is focused on delivering continual improvement and efficiency at the lowest cost possible while maintaining service excellence. Your strategic insights and strong leadership will be vital in supporting operational and safety targets across the team.

•   Operational Leadership: Provide clear direction, accountability, and leadership to your team of Freight Handlers, ensuring operational goals are met efficiently and safely.

•   Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, analyse operational data, and implement actionable plans to drive efficiencies, improve service delivery, and optimize overall performance.

•   Customer Service Excellence: Focus on delivering quality service by overseeing day-to-day operations and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Lead the development of solutions that address customer and operational challenges.

•   Safety & Compliance: Champion a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and compliance with company policies, including scanning, training, and operational procedures.

•   Team Development: Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment, ensuring appropriate staff allocation, resource planning, and development of team capabilities to meet business objectives.


About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

•   Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role, ideally within transport or logistics operations, with a focus on team management, service delivery, and safety.

•   Operational Knowledge: Sound understanding of freight and parcel processing, including scheduling, scanning, and transport operations.

•   Continuous Improvement Mindset: A passion for driving operational improvements, implementing changes, and solving complex problems.

•   Customer-Focused: A keen focus on customer service and the ability to manage customer expectations and service issues effectively.

•   Safety Advocate: Strong commitment to workplace safety, with the ability to lead by example and promote a safe working environment.

•   Team Player: Ability to build and maintain a strong, cohesive team that is motivated and aligned with the business goals.
