Plumbing Maintenance Technician, Airport Maintenance

Summary The plumbing maintenance technician maintains troubleshoots and repairs industrial plumbing systems, various piping systems and hydronic systems. Employees perform all types of standard maintenance duties and routinely assist other technicians with projects whenever required. All duties are to be performed in accordance with NMS’ mission, vision, and values. **Responsibilities** Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Repairs and installs equipment and systems associated with water and wastewater pumping, storage and distribution systems. + Repair and maintain gas distribution systems, pressure devices and furnaces and boiler room appliances. + Repairs and services drain and drain systems. + Assembles and installs plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings, and piping systems. + Tests various systems for proper operation, assembly, or to diagnose problems. + **Performs a wide variety of other general maintenance duties required to maintain and operate commercial or industrial facilities.** + Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met. + Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned. **Qualifications** Minimum Requirements + Must have at least four (4) years’ verifiable industrial plumbing experience which demonstrates knowledge of water distribution systems, wastewater systems, gas distribution systems, pressure devices, gas heating systems and furnace appliances. + A State of Hawaii Journeyman Plumbers certificate of fitness is highly desirable. + A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy. + Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: **Background investigation, SIDA security clearance, criminal record check** , drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. + **Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.** + Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision. + Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. + Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client. + Must be willing to travel routinely by commercial airline within Alaska. + Regular day shift, M-F but position will involve rotating night weekend emergency call out as needed basis. + Assist other Maintenance Technicians, regardless of skill set/trade. + This position may require approximately up to 15% travel out of Honolulu area to multiple Hawaiian cities. Overnight stays may be required. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Hot, Wet, Humid. Noise level: Moderate to Loud Description of environment: This is a remote camp setting. Employees must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. Physical requirements: Lift 50 lbs.
