Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FM Mechanical Trades Technician performs under the direction of the Maintenance
Operations Plumbing Supervisor.
+ The responsibilities may entail a range of tasks such as maintenance, repair, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components. These require planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety.
+ Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure that the building systems operate efficiently.
+ In the event of mechanical problems, one must diagnose and troubleshoot the issue, referring to blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs if necessary, to determine the appropriate corrective measures.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalency and at least two years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial building systems.
+ Solid working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and a proven track record in facilities.
+ Plumbing Journeyman Card or Plumbing Technician License.
+ Able to foster and create a teamwork-oriented atmosphere.
+ Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension), and have very good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Knowledgeable in Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willing to learn new programs.
+ The ability to work and interact effectively with all persons.
+ Mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
