You will partner with infrastructure and application teams to design and implement scripts, templates, and workflows that automate their product’s disaster recovery. This includes automation for all relevant resiliency elements including disaster recovery provisioning and scaling, configuration management, monitoring and observability, resyncing and reconciliation, and testing.
You will analyze and research recovery and resiliency trends for potential impact to Capital Group’s strategic direction and recommend appropriate changes to take advantage of opportunities for future enhancement or to mitigate risk.
You will work with infrastructure, architecture, and application teams to improve the design and overall recovery health of platforms, applications and products.
You will perform detailed evaluations of platform and application resiliency readiness to identify areas of concern.
You define relevant performance metrics and thresholds to baseline platform, application, and product recovery health to be used for Observability purposes.
You can design and implement data collecting scripts, implement and maintain monitoring tools, and develop front-end dashboards to monitor the health, performance, and utilization of Capital’s recovery environment to enable prompt response when signs dictate.
You continuously learn about new resiliency tools, technologies, services, and best practices through available training and certifications, mentorship with more senior associates, and on-the-job experience. You experiment with new tools, techniques, and methodologies to drive innovation and enhance capabilities across the community.
You can provide formal coaching and mentorship to associates within the team and across the IT department, guiding them in best practices, technologies, and methodologies related to resiliency best practices. Promotes knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill development across teams.
You can standardize resiliency and disaster recovery requirements for third-party vendors. You can collaborate with vendors to define exercise test scenarios and facilitate the exercises.
You will enhance CG team's awareness of disaster recovery guides and training materials and collate and publish content to DR/Resiliency knowledge repository.
You will develop recovery scenarios, oversee their exercise and testing processes. Coordinate the planning for disaster recovery exercises including establishing exercise/testing objectives, charter, closures, exercise design, result evaluation.
You will lead disaster recovery exercises and events across the enterprise, triage high complexity, impactful issues, recommends corrective actions to minimize downtime and service disruptions, and facilitates necessary changes. Conduct post-mortem analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and prevent recurrence of incidents.

You have hands-on experience with AWS recovery tools (e.g. Resiliency Hub, Fault Injector Service)
Knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
You have coding capabilities within multiple modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, IaC: Terraform, etc.)
You are experienced with automation and deployment tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)
You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
You have continuous improvement and customer-centric mindset.
You are experienced with delivering projects across multiple teams/functions.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $153,965-$246,344
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
