Plant Operator I is an entry-level position and performs basic maintenance duties under the supervision of Plant Operators II and III. These duties involve operating, monitoring, and maintaining stationary equipment on FHP commercial and residential properties to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation, including steam/hot water boilers, diesel generators, electrical equipment, switchgear, fuel transfer systems, centrifugal/reciprocating/multi-stack/process chillers, ground water cooling systems and pumped systems, such as chilled water, condensate water, domestic hot and cold water, heating hot water, condensate, sewage ejector, medical air, vacuum, mechanical air, and fuel oil.

Qualifications A high school diploma/GED or one (1) year of vocational/technical training or apprenticeship training is required.Two (2) years of construction trade experience required.Obtain an ASHE Health Care Physical Environment Worker certification within the first six (6) months of hire.Proof of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy may be requiredMust be able to read and understand drawings and illustrations.Demonstratable knowledge of electrical and pneumatic controls.Effective verbal and written communication skills are requiredMust have flexible scheduling availability. Must have the ability to work up to 10-hour shifts if required. It may require on-call.Must be able to work effectively with plant computer software programs.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
