Role Summary:

The Automotive Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the automotive manufacturing plant, ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are strictly followed. This role involves managing a team, optimizing manufacturing processes, coordinating across departments, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of automotive products.  This role reports to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight:Lead and manage all plant activities to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality production of automotive products to ITW standards.Develop and implement 80/20 production plans to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.Team Management:Supervise, mentor, and motivate production staff, including team leaders, operators, and technicians.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.Quality Control:Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards set by company policies and customer requirements.Compliant with all ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards.Implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing) to enhance product quality and reduce defects.Cost Control and Budgeting:Manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective production practices and resource management.Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality or safety.Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement in terms of cost efficiency.Process Improvement:Analyze production processes and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste and downtime.Lead initiatives for upgrading plant equipment, tools, and systems to stay current with industry advancements.Supply Chain and Inventory Management:Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components.Reporting and Communication:Provide regular reports on production performance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency to senior management.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, HR, and materials, to address production and operational challenges.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 3 years in managerial role.Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous ImprovementStrong organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency with manufacturing software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communicator, capable of managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with all levels of the organization.Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing change effectively.

The Plant Manager may at times be exposed to extremes in temperature and noise.
