Job Description Summary

               

Under the direction of HR Manager, oversee all Human Resource processes including, but not limited to: recruitment and selection, benefits, disability accommodation, employee relations, training and labor relations, internal investigation and other responsibilities as required. This position is responsible for performing a professional level of duties as a human resources generalist.

Job Description

Provides day-to-day business HR partnership and consultation for assigned functional team.Recruitment and selection, including partnering with hiring managers, leading new hire orientation, systems onboarding for new hires, developing recruitment strategies and attending job fairsAssist with payroll processing, including managing payroll discrepanciesAssist with benefits and RRSP administrationGeneral HR support for employees – answer routine questions, resolve conflicts, provide communication and resources, etc.Lead and document internal investigations regarding policy breachesDevelop materials for and conduct training sessions as needed, such as Respectful Workplace, Harassment/Discrimination, Code of Conduct, etc.Provide coaching and advice to management on effective ways to administer HR programs and manage employee issues.Leads overall organization of Human Resource programs within the assigned function, including but not limited to, unemployment, litigation, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issuesPartners with cross-functional HR peers, HR centers of excellence and other business support functions including but not limited to, Staffing, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Finance and Legal on various business needs.Participate in the implementation of approved employee relations' policies and practices, providing professional and technical assistance to functional leadership.Assist with WCB claims management, return-to-work and accommodation processesAssist with internal and external auditing processesOversee leave of absence and attendance management processesLead various employee engagement initiatives, including employee surveys and focus groupsPresent HR updates and changes to all employees in large group settingsConduct periodic audits and ensures accurate recordkeeping for HR documentationTrack personnel activities like transfers, promotions and terminations.Develop, update and maintain various HR policies and proceduresLead complex HR projects and utilize the Plan, Do, Check, Act model to ensure sustainabilityMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation including Employment Standards, OHS and WCBUnderstand and maintain professionalism in all business dealings with all team members, as well as customers and vendors.Comply with all company policies, procedures and practices, as well as enforce them with all team members.Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.Designs and executes ad hoc reporting, conducts analysis and draws conclusions that aide in making sound business decisions.Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related two-year College certificate requiredMinimum 3 years of related experience requiredExperience in manufacturing would be an assetExperience managing projects and change management initiativesExperience with benefits, compensation administration, employment legislation and organizational development requiredEquivalent combination of higher education and experience will be consideredMust have reliable transportation to and from facility, no public transportation is available to the siteEffective and deliberate communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust be able to speak effectively before groups of employees and have excellent presentation skillsMust be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)Experience with Workday or other HRISAbility to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgencyAbility to deal with ambiguity, change in a dynamic business environment as well as conflict management and mediation skillsAbility to develop strong consulting relationships and influence business leaders through coaching and partnershipEffective reasoning, interpretation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilityEffective delegation skillsAble to strategize an effective vision and communicate that vision to others while gaining buy-inExcellent collaboration abilities and able to work with cross-functional teamsHigh emotional intelligence and resilience in the face of challenging situationsStrong conflict resolution and active listening skillsDisplays passion and optimism to inspire others to succeedAble to build trust and rapport with othersExtremely organized and able to effectively prioritize and manage time
