Plant Engineer
As a Plant Engineer you will be responsible for capital projects, larger maintenance projects that require contractors, contractor requirements, process studies, improvements, and providing technical input on safety issues. This role will also develop, track and maintain data used to improve facility operations and financial performance.\n
Essential Functions & Requirements: \n\nPrioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times\nCoordinates, updates and maintains all drawings, equipment, PSM documentation and procedural changes generated from PHA's and PSSRs\nPerforms Management of Change (MOC) engineering support\nProvides project management on multiple projects, including RCRA compliance projects; oversees work to ensure it is done safely, within project scope and budget and accomplishes project objectives\nPrepares reports documenting project activities to satisfy regulatory requirements\nManages, oversees and provides technical support on various construction projects\nProvides and oversees engineering design and cost estimation of plant modifications\/upgrades\nAssists in responding to and preparing permit applications and\/ or modifications\nSupports multiple facilities operated by Arcwood as needed \nCompletes statistical analysis of data and supports capacity planning\nCoordinates the finalization of the Fire Protection System changes and general PMs for fire protection system\nManages the facility's Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program\nPerforms MI inspections on tanks, pipes & pumps as determined by inspection frequency reviews\nCompletes MI evaluations on inspected equipment based on inspection results, service history and engineering calculations\nWrites and\/or revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)\nMaintains ability to perform duties on an on-call basis as needed \nTakes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization\n\n
Education:\n\nBachelor's degree in engineering (required); mechanical or chemical specialization (preferred) \n\n
Experience: \n\n3+ years of relevant engineering experience (required) \nPrevious experience in hazardous waste or chemical handling (preferred) \n\n
Competencies: \n\nStrong understanding of engineering principles and hazardous waste management; ability to learn and apply Federal, State, and Local regulations related to the environmental services industry \nFamiliarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail\nEffective communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders\nAbility to work in a dynamic and challenging environment\nRegular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role \n\n
