Plant Controller Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled financial leader to oversee and improve plant financial operations at their manufacturing site in Memphis. The ideal candidate will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive performance improvements and cost management. This role requires a strong business understanding, effective collaboration across departments, and a focus on financial controls and internal processes.
Plant Controller Responsibilities Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze plant and line performance, providing timely and actionable financial insights. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly outlooks, and financial analysis to support decision-making and cost optimization. Financial Analysis & Support: Investigate manufacturing variances, support margin improvement initiatives, and provide actionable recommendations to management. Accounting & Oversight: Manage accounting functions including payroll, month-end close, inventory reconciliation, and procurement activities. Financial Controls: Develop and enforce controls to safeguard plant assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Capital Management: Review capital projects for compliance with corporate policies and provide financial analysis to support business growth and margin improvement.
Plant Controller Requirements Education: B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; advanced degree preferred. Certifications: CMA or CPA preferred. Experience: 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or related accounting roles. Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. SAP experience is a plus. Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP and financial controls.
