Plant Associate Lead

***Starting pay:  $21.85/hr + OT***

Position Purpose:

This individual will ensure all waste is unloaded from vehicles, the vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is properly staged for scanning and processing. The individual will perform the duties in a safe and productive manner. Provides work direction and advice to lower level Plant Sharps Workers on a regular basis. Trains and supervises others.

Key Job Activities:

• Perform Quality Control Duties to ensure process compliance.  
• Ensure Load Plans are Accurate and Complete.
• Maintain and Complete daily documents required.
• Track sharps shipping manifests for completion.
• Unload waste from incoming vehicles.  
• Stage waste containers for scanning in the Bio Track system.
• Scan waste into the Bio Track system for proper recordkeeping purposes.  
• Decontaminates vehicle cargo-carrying portion, reloads assigned re-usable tubs and insures cargo-carrying portion of vehicle does not have free liquid on the floor. 
• Informs the plant supervisor the vehicle is ready to be moved from the dock area.
• Ensures housekeeping issues, e.g., spills are cleaned up, the floor is dry, and debris not on the floor, etc., are addressed immediately.
• Provides work direction and advice to lower-level Sharps Plant Workers on a regular basis.  
• Responsible for a single shift only. Typically, not responsible for decisions surrounding hiring, firing, or performance reviews.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
 

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience, preferably in a plant working environment.
• Identifies major activities of, and services provided by, the operations function.
• Locates and interprets standard and management reports on plant activities.
• Describes characteristics of a well-run manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
• Ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift.
• Ability to perform functions safely, productively, and according to established policies and procedures.
