Your Role:

MilliporeSigma is hiring a Planning and Scheduling Specialist II.  This role will encompass forecasting, operations planning, and procurement planning functions.  You will be involved in reviewing and adjusting demands at a global and local level, compiling long and short term capacity plans, and ensuring supply chain planning designs are set to achieve global service and inventory objectives.  A P&S specialist is responsible for between $5M and $50M in total inventory. 

Responsibilities:

Review demand plans at a global and local level, including adjusting forecast and safety stock parameters. Work with the sales group to incorporate customer demands into the planning systems. Develop operational schedules to meet customer service objectives and support sales growth plans at the lowest overall inventory costs.  Develop, test and execute models for scheduling operations.  Lead and/or assist process improvement initiatives.  Compile reports and metrics to ensure business has proper feedback loops on performance to objectives. Use APO or other scheduling software techniques to optimize production schedules.Analyze planned orders, requirements, and system designs with a view to global MilliporeSigma supply chain impact.Identify scheduling constraints and test various methods and strategies in order to reduce or eliminate those constraints (i.e. bulk size, availability, fill time, warehouse space)Develop SAP generated reports various performance measures to identify opportunities for refinement of strategies, process improvement, and testing.Manage SAP exception messages and act on recommended plan changes.  Including expediting or rescheduling purchase orders. Work closely with purchasing and production to ensure bulk availability and packaging requirements including suppliesWork with global planning teams as needed to ensure planning designs and requirements are coordinated across the entire supply chainAnalyzes reports and participates in projects to eliminate backorders, optimize inventory and increase customer service.Support business unit objectives

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management or other Business field1+ years of experience moving material through the product delivery cycle1+ years of experience in supply chain, forecasting or planning/scheduling

 

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience moving material through the product delivery cycle2+ years of experience in supply chain, forecasting or planning/schedulingCertification from APICsStrong computer skills (SAP, Excel, Access, SQL, etc.)Knowledge of ISO standards (in relation to preparing documents)Basic scheduling techniques and material requirements planning knowledgeAbility to work independently and adhere to deadlinesAbility to communicate at different levels of the businessHigh sense of urgency Extremely organized and detail orientedProficient in spreadsheets and databases  Proficient in data analysis
