As a Distribution Planner, you are responsible for your own material schedule, reviewing current demand, your current supply plan and the current available-to-promise (ATP) quantity.
You will be processing and monitoring daily purchase orders based on MRP results, this in accordance with the overall BU targeted inventory level. Assuring timely delivery of purchased components and finished goods by building a constructive relationship with several supplying parties is a key element in your position.
In your central role between customer and supplier, you will have an intensive daily interaction with customer service in order to offer a high service level based on customer expectations.
You actively contribute in establishing a balanced supply chain, cost-cash-service triangle.
Accountabilities
External/Internal Customer Service
Respond to Customer Service Team requests/expedites in a timely manner Monitor and support fluctuating demands through SAP – MRP system Place purchase orders with appropriate dates and quantity in line with MRP requirements Monitor daily performance and assess long term business issues Manage any shortages or priority allocations with the Demand Planning team Foster positive relationships with both external and internal suppliers and customers Work with suppliers, customers, logistics and operations team towards continuous improvement Run and analyze necessary reports to maintain an accurate schedule Support processes on invoice discrepancies, solve discrepancies on incoming materialData accuracy
Regularly check and support maintenance of master data and system accuracyPast Due Analysis
Monitor, escalate and drive solutions for intercompany/supplier deliveries Monitor, escalate and drive solutions for customer delivery performanceSupplier Relations
Monitor daily performance and communicate to vendors accordingly to improve on time delivery Work with suppliers and other members of purchasing team towards continuous improvement in the areas of quality, performance, pricing and lead-time reduction whenever possibleInventory Management
Maintain order policies and maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing inventory levels Analyze safety stocks & forecast to provide recommendations to the Demand Planning team on changes Monitor and report on inventory and turns levels in region Analyze and report on slow moving inventory Work with warehouse and shipping teamRequirements
Required
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent. Preferably with 5 years’ experience in a supply chain environment. Planner/material controller experience in a systems driven environment Problem solving attitude - analytical Fluent written and verbal English Maintaining excellent customer service levels under pressure/stress-resistant Excellent communication skills Good working knowledge of MS Office (more specific excel) Flexible– enthusiastic – positive – team playerAdvantageous
