Description
We are seeking a diligent Placement Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Education sector, specifically within a university setting, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Placement Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our Skills Initiative programs. Your primary tasks will involve structuring recruitment and interview processes, assisting participants throughout their job application journey, and providing ongoing support during their onboarding phase. Moreover, you will offer career advice and job search assistance and engage with our alumni to ensure their long-term success.

• Establish productive collaborations with employers to understand their hiring needs and formulate targeted recruitment strategies accordingly
• Create and execute a well-structured interview and selection process to pinpoint candidates with experience in specific roles
• Render individualized and group career coaching, both virtually and in-person, to aid students and alumni in career exploration, goal setting, and decision-making
• Aid candidates in the creation and refinement of detail-oriented materials, encompassing resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles
• Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance candidates' interview skills
• Leverage career development tools such as Handshake, The Big Interview, and FOCUS2 to support career planning and job readiness
• Assist students and alumni in identifying and applying for internships and job opportunities that align with their academic and career aspirations
• Offer guidance on job search strategies, networking techniques, and the effective use of job search platforms
• Support program participants throughout the application and interview process with potential employers
• Provide continual support during the onboarding phase, ensuring candidates successfully complete background checks, assessments, and other employment requisites
• Identify potential barriers to employment retention and facilitate a smooth transition into the workplace
• Contribute to the development and updating of career-related resources, including handouts, guides, and digital content
• Manage the Career Center’s job board and other digital career resources, primarily through Handshake
• Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, job placements, and program outcomes
• Assist with data collection and reporting to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future initiatives
• Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance career services offerings.
Requirements
Other requirements for the Placement Coordinator position include and are not limited to:
• Minimum of 1+ years' experience in a similar role within the education industry, preferably in a university setting
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, demonstrating the ability to manage financial aspects of student placements
• Experience in designing and managing Banner Ads, promoting the university's placement opportunities
• Familiarity with Cisco Webex Meetings, showcasing the ability to coordinate and facilitate virtual meetings or webinars
• Proficiency in Concur, demonstrating the ability to manage travel and expenses related to student placements
• Demonstrated experience in using CRM systems, to manage and track student placement data
• Knowledge of About Time software, showing the ability to manage and track time effectively
• Experience in Answering Inbound Calls, illustrating strong customer service skills and the ability to handle queries related to placements
• Understanding of Budget Processes, showcasing the ability to manage and monitor the budget for student placements
• Proficiency in Calendar Management, reflecting strong organizational skills and the ability to schedule placement related activities
• Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, faculty, and placement partners.
