Volt is immediately hiring multiple Welder Helpers / Pipe Fitters for immediate hire.
As a Welder Helper / Pipe Fitter you may assist with:

\r\n\r\nPerform manufacturing operations, working from Solumina Manufacturing Execution System, blueprints, sketches, other authorized documents and/or oral instructions.\r\nPerform layout, mock-up, fitting, and assembly of details and components required in the completion of complex specialized manifolding, piping, and tubing configuration.\r\nCut, form, bend, and install tubing, piping, conduit, and metal paneling using tube cutters, tube bending equipment, saws, and hand tools. Braze tubing as required.\r\nSelect materials, tooling and testing equipment and utilize in a manner to accomplish the required functional test of pipe valve skids and other assemblies that may require testing.\r\nPerform pipe hydrotesting as required.\r\nUse precision measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, transits, and micrometers to inspect components and assembly conformance to print.\r\nSet up and layout for welders. Perform necessary kitting, prepping, and cleaning up as required.\r\nPerform work operation under direct guidance where adequate information has not yet been determined and furnished, such as routing and part locations and where critical dimensions, locations, adjustment, and coordinated locations are required.\r\nPerform any operation required to fabricate and assemble all types of parts and assemblies.\r\nSet up and operate all equipment necessary to perform the required duties.\r\nWork with or without jigs and fixtures as required.\r\nPerform, repair, or rework, including major rework, on components, and assemblies.\r\nFabricate shop and tooling aids as required.\r\nOperate material moving and handling equipment and perform movement of work piece from one production location to another.\r\nEngage in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, velocity and cost within Pipes and Structures Manufacturing department.\r\n\r\n

This is a temporary role expected to last 15 months, with very strong potential to go temp to hire quickly. The role is 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm) but will require you train on 1st shift (5am - 2:30pm).
The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\nPipefitting or weld prep experience \r\nProficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, datum lines and tolerances to produce defect-free work\r\nAbility to operate shop equipment, hand tools, measuring devices and inspection equipment\r\nProficiency in shop math\r\nComfortable in using a computer\r\nAbility to read and communicate effectively in English language\r\nWilling to engage or take initiative to improve safety, quality, velocity and minimize cost\r\nMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35lbs and wear welder face shield\r\nWilling to work any shift\r\nMust be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $23-25.75/hr
** Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
