Practice Details

Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to join our team of specialists at the prestigious Roger Maris Cancer Center in downtown Fargo, ND.

Practice Highlights
• Well-established, collegial practice of 4 physicians supported by 2 APPs, 14 RTTs, 4 Dosimetrists, 4 medical physicists, and 10 RN’s.
• State-of-the-art equipment including 3 Varian linacs (2 matched Truebeams with Vision RT and a TrueBeam Edge with Brainlab ExacTrac Dynamic), 2 Siemens CT scanners (one in a dedicated brachytherapy suite), Varian Bravos HDR, Superficial X-ray unit, Aria/Eclipse, Brainlab Elements, and Velocity
• Designated NCORP community site
• Participate in several disease specific multidisciplinary clinics
• EBRT and HDR treatment modalities
• Team approach to care planning with excellent relationships across all specialties including Medical & Pediatric Oncology, Oncologic Otolaryngologists, Breast Surgeon, Breast Radiologists, Thoracic Surgeon, Neurosurgeons, and Urologists
• National and local research protocols
• Average of 65 patients per day; 850 new patients per year
• Call will be 1:5 over the weekends once the fifth provider is hired

Job Description

Radiation Oncology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose and provide treatment plans for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree.

Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways: An applicant who has just completed a residency or fellowship shall provide his/her residency or fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency/fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of at least 100 Radiology Oncology cases in the last 24 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of at least 100 Radiology Oncology cases in the last 24 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Radiation Oncology residency program or a clinical fellowship accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. The Credentials Committee and the Board of Directors may consider training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above. Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) Any individual who does not satisfy the board certification criterion may request that the appropriate governing Board waive it. The individual requesting the waiver bears the burden of demonstrating that his or her qualifications are equivalent to, or exceed, the criterion in question.
