Key Position Details:

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiology EP Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the practice.

Base hours - 10-hour workdays plus short call.Inpatient cardiac EP lab/EP service.Future weekend rounding required.May work between Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis and United Hospital in St. Paul.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

Provides clinical care for patientsCompletes comprehensive patient assessments.Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

Preferred Qualifications:

New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or ICU.

Licenses/Certifications:

Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hireLicensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
