Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
This is a part-time position (24 hours/week - Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) JOB OBJECTIVE: This role will be a key contributing member of the onsite Wellness Center. They will provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation, follow-up, and wellness services under the direction of their supervising physician, Promega’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO). They will be responsible and accountable to our patient population, and will provide high-quality medical care, preventive services, and health education. They will work in coordination with other members of the Wellness Team and will assist in developing innovative wellness programs. CORE DUTIES: 1. Provide on-site clinical care for routine medical conditions normally seen in a primary care office—both acute and chronic care. Develop and implement treatment plans and appropriate therapies. Treat on-the-job-injuries, provide referrals when necessary. 2. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including mental health counselors and physical therapists, to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care. 3. Conduct health assessments, prescribe medications, and develop individualized care plans. 4. Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and therapeutic interventions. 5. Coordinate and facilitate employee wellness programs, workshops, and health promotion campaigns. 6. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements including privacy and confidentiality of medical information. 7. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, wellness coordinators, and human resources personnel. 8. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the employee wellness program. Share knowledge in a team-based group practice model. 9. Act as an employee advocate to facilitate appointments or communication with local treating physicians (care navigation / coordination). 10. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduation from an accredited master’s level Physician Assistant Program, and Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or equivalent organization. Or Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, and certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or equivalent. 2. Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a primary care, advanced corporate wellness program, or emergency department setting. 3. Strong knowledge of preventive medicine, health promotion and wellness principles. Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills 4. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees. 5. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. 6. Current license to practice in the state of Wisconsin and other states as required. 7. Current DEA certificate for prescribing controlled substances. 8. Compliance with continuing education requirements. 9. Obvious sense of professionalism with ability to inspire confidence and become a trusted resource for our employees. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 3-5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting. 2. Additional training and/or experience in any or all the following areas: psychology, ketamine assisted psychotherapy and supporting the LGBTQIA+ and transgender communities is desirable. 3. Proficiency in Spanish (both written and spoken) is highly desirable. 4. Ability to perform minor office procedures (e.g., incision and drainage, laceration repair, venipuncture, phlebotomy, etc.). 5. Familiarity with word processing and data management programs (Word, Excel). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to lift 30lbs as needed. 2. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.
