Nature & Purpose of Position Provides primary health care services on a college campus by evaluating, treating, and managing medical problems. The clinic also offers laboratory and pharmacy and is set up to provide minor procedural services. Primary Responsibilities PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:

Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions in a concise and expeditious manner according to established protocol standards of care and physician oversight. Specifically, assesses, interprets, evaluates patient status and formulates and initiates a health care plan. Initiates patient communication and education as well as referral and urgent care. Consults with and provides guidance for nursing staff and ancillary employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications Must be extremely adept in the ability to read, write, and speak effectively with medical staff, students, parents, other university departments, outside agencies, and visitors. Must be able to establish rapport with coworkers and patients. Must be able to effectively manage a schedule of a high volume of routine medical visits with proficient turn around time. Requires some physical stamina, due to a fast paced work environment with considerable standing, stooping, and walking to be expected. Careful attention is required to prevent injury to self or others.
