Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physician, within the Neurosurgery department for the inpatient and outpatient clinic settings. The APP provides acute care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. In addition, the APP is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e., Damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
Qualifications:
Current Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey is requiredCDS, DEA, BLS & ACLS CertificationsRNFA Certification2-3 years of inpatient, acute care, and neurosurgery experienceCurrent Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of New Jersey is requiredCDS, DEA, BLS & ACLS Certifications2-3 years of inpatient, acute care, and neurosurgery experience, collectivelyWeekends/Holiday RotationRequired (APN/NP)

Organizes daily schedule and demonstrates time management.Effectively prioritizes work assignments and demonstrates effective communication skillsImplements the policies and procedures of the practice. Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools.Manages time to meet the needs of the Lab. Possesses good working knowledge of scheduling and procedure prioritization to minimize delays and ensure completion of daily work schedulePerforms other duties as assigned by the Physician.Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary.Recognizes areas for improvement in divisional policies or patient care; initiates change; educate all involved in changeRegularly communicates with nursing leadership and staff concerning patient care issuesThe APP will assist the physicians with various procedures/surgeries and assist with coordinating the case of the patient.The APP is responsible for assisting the Physician in the office, taking H&Ps, administering medications, performing physical exams, and participating in flow of patients thru the practiceThoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing.Additional Information:
