University Health Services is seeking a Physician to join our team to help support Aggies during their academic careers, laying the foundation for healthy lives well beyond their time spent in Aggieland! In this role, the primary focus is on diagnosing illnesses, diseases, and various conditions. This includes providing general medical care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications and treatments, and offering counseling and education on health maintenance, disease, injury prevention, and community resources. Additionally, a component includes serving on clinical committees, actively participating in peer reviews, accreditation processes, and other quality improvement activities. To excel in this role, one must possess a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, AMA ethics and standards, and pharmacology. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is essential. The ability to accurately assess symptoms, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatments is crucial. Additionally, applying modern medical principles and techniques, handling sensitive information with confidentiality, and demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills are vital. Effective time management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and cooperative teamwork are also key abilities required for success.
