**Overview**
In support of the mission and vision of CHI Health, a physical therapy assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide patient treatment to achieve the goals established in the teams care plan. Positive and professional verbal and written communication is required for this position as they interact with a variety of professionals, the patient and family. The ability to organize workday in an efficient and effective manner is required. The individual must have a high regard for patient safety and quality. This role requires a strong knowledge and application of applicable laws, regulation and professional standards as it relates to Physical Therapy Assistant service delivery.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist the licensed physical therapist with patient assessment, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources.
+ Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals.
+ Is knowledgable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law.
+ Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures
+ Provides supervision to physical therapy techs according to established local, state and federal guidelines.
+ Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of physical therapy practice.
+ In support of the academic health mission of the organization, periodically accepts assignment of student clinical education under the direction of the physical therapist.
+ Completes all mandatory education requirements around patient safety, quality security, infection control assigned by established timeframes and consistently demonstrates competency in daily practice.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education for Staff Job Levels**
Associate PTA degree from an accredited program
**Required Licensure and Certifications**
Active physical therapy Assistant license in the state of Nebraska. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.
**Pay Range**
$23.47 - $34.03 /hour
