Position Purpose:
This position evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Develop treatment plans with involvement in
family/support systems to meet the individual’s functional goals. Provides direct supervision of support personal as related to patient care.
What you will Do:
Evaluates plans, directs, supervises and conducts habilitative and rehabilitative programs for patients with physical limitations.
Consults and communicates with patient, family, and other multi-disciplinary team members and service providers.
Records and reports patient’s progress towards established goals, and data related to care in the patient’s medical record/chart. Instructs patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living, safe body mechanics, home exercise programs, and return to work precautions.
Delegates and supervises activities of physical therapy assistants and technicians, to assure efficient use of department resources.
Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.
Hours/Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Will have some ability to be flexible in hours. Position will have a weekend and holiday rotation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of Physical Therapy Program.
Must possess/maintain license in the State of Iowa.
Ability to have good relationships with people while dealing with a variety of physical disabilities. Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider-American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.
Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.
