About the Photo Studio and Warehouse Operations Team

Our Photo Studio and Warehouse operations team is made up of sample warehouse coordinators, art directors, photographers, visual merchandisers and set shop builders.  You will work closely with talented and passionate team members to bring our amazing products to life in our beautiful catalogs and online websites.  The operation is responsible for photographing samples, working collaboratively across creative teams and executing our brand esthetics.

Overview of the Photo Studio Scenic Fabricator

The Photo Studio Scenic Fabricator reports directly to a Lead Supervisor and will receive direction from a Lead Supervisor and/or Set Shop Manager. Set Fabricators work closely with a lead in order to construct/fabricate sets and set components, organize, maintain and strike sets as needed.  The Set Fabricator will work across multiple brands, studios and projects to ensure the sets are completed with quality and safety and on time.

Responsibilities

Constructing room scenes based on creative direction from Photo Directors and Managers. Maintain clear communication and progress updates with project Lead Supervisor. Collaborate with Creative Photo teams to make decisions on how to build, organize, and maintain sets during a photoshoot. Maintain an understanding of direction by working with art directors, stylists, and the photo studio manager. Provide onsite support and on-set design quality to ensure integrity and safety of the build; provide solutions to rigging and special effects challenges. Ability to independently create and construct various photo studio scenes based on the changing needs of photo studio leadership. Work with a team and manage efficient workflow by prioritizing set assembly and utilizing available resources across teams. Manage organization and maintenance of photo studio tools and equipment. Maintain standards for studio set care use, maintenance, storage, and safety. Clean, maintain and organize studio space. Shop for materials needed for set designs. Support location shoots as needed.

 

Criteria

We look for proactive, out-of-the-box thinkers.  Someone who can effectively manage projects as well as roll up their sleeves to get the job done.  Driven and passionate about customer service.

2 years previous woodworking/shop experience Construction, finish carpentry, or theatre scenic work experience a plus Experience with all general hand and power tools used in carpentry and construction Knowledge in architecture/design/art/fabrication training is a plus Ability to read and interpret building diagrams and plans General proficiency in the safe use of power tools and carpentry Possess a sense of urgency focused on details, accuracy, and efficiency Excellent communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills Ability to move and/or lift up to 65 lbs; heavier merchandise with team assist Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English) High school diploma/GED or equivalent

The expected starting pay range for this position is $81,000 - $90,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
