Reporting to Director of Laboratory Services, this position performs phlebotomy for the purpose of collection of blood samples for clinical laboratory testing. Also performs tasks involving processing of specimens for clinical laboratory testing. Knowledge of routine clerical tasks is important.
Position Accountabilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
Demonstrates knowledge in handling of patients in the following age groups: newborn, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, as they relate to the drawing of blood specimens for laboratory testing.Performs phlebotomy for collection of blood samples.Plans, organizes and prioritizes workload.Demonstrates ability to process specimens for clinical laboratory tests.Knows and applies criteria for specimen rejection.Documents collection information.Performs routine clerical tasks including using the laboratory computer.Prepares and replenishes materials, supplies and reagents.Qualifications
Minimum Education: Possesses a high school diploma
Minimum Experience/Skills: One (1) year phlebotomy experience in a hospital laboratory preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: Current California Phlebotomy License
Pay range: $24.13 - $32.42 hourly
