This posting is for multiple openings of a Phlebotomist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA.
We offer day, evening, night and/or variable shifts for full-time and/or part-time opportunities.
The Phlebotomist collects and processes laboratory specimens from all areas of the hospital including, but not limited to the Emergency Department, Main Tower, West Tower, East Tower and Outpatient areas, including blood samples, skin scrapings, and POCT testing and non-blood specimens. Maintains laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving and stocking them. Answers the telephone and relays messages. Performs general laboratory duties including general cleaning, instrument maintenance, copying, faxing and other related duties. Registers patients and accessions specimens into the computer system. Labels, processes and distributes samples. Prints pending logs. Prints, copies and distributes reports depending upon department. Provides orientation, and training for Medical Technology students, Career Focus students and phlebotomy students. Follows the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitment & Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and adheres to all regulatory requirements for this position. Utilizes age related concepts for neonates (0-1 month) infants (1 month to age 1) toddlers (1-2 years), preschoolers (3-5 years), school age (6-12 years) of adolescents (ages 13-17) and adult patients including early adult (ages 18-35) middle adult (ages 36-65) and older adult (ages 66+) when communicating with patients and families, using medical equipment, or participating in diagnostic or other procedures.

Required qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or GED or documentation of higher education Must have completed Medical Assistant with phlebotomy or Phlebotomy course Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification Computer experience Laboratory or related science experiencePreferred qualifications:
