Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking experienced Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to join our leadership team.

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is a member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team who supports the department through oversight of technician workflow, participating in quality improvement projects, inventory and records maintenance, and the recruiting, training, retention, and development of our technician team members. 

This is a full-time Monday-Friday variable shift 40 hours per week; rotating weekend position.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversees daily technician workflow; rounds on team and conducts one on one meetings with direct reports. Manages team member performance using routine feedback and corrective action if needed. Supervises and manages direct reports. Processes timecards and payroll corrections; contributes to team member scheduling and time off approvals. Participates in quality improvement projects and provides team with timely coaching on decision making, best practices, and performance. Participates in interviewing and hiring of pharmacy team members, and coordinates, facilitates, and monitors training of new pharmacy technicians. Participates in safety reviews and analysis; ensures compliance of team with regulatory, compliance, and licensure requirements.

Qualifications:

 Experience:

Three (3) years of experience working in a hospital as a Pharmacy Technician with leadership experience.

Education:

High School or GED.

Certifications:

CPHT with the PTCB upon start.  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

License:

Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia.
