The schedule for this position is PRN which means the hours you will be working will be determined in partnership with the Pharmacy Leadership team to best meet the needs of patients and the department while providing flexibility to the employee. Position Highlights: + Work in various environments which include: Medication distribution to clinics, and critical access hospitals, repackaging medications into unit dose forms. + Effectively communicates with nursing staff, providers, patients and co-workers. + Non-hazardous compounding Job Summary + Pharmacy Technician-in-Training assists in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within a variety of pharmacy environments. + This entry-level position has the option to be provided free tuition within Avera's Technician Education Program to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Upon completion of the education program and successful Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination, the technician-in-training will be promoted into the role of Pharmacy Technician. Education and/or Experience + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Certification/Licensure + Registration with the state Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
