Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist, ensuring quality control maintenance and adherence to departmental procedures and policies. You will read and interpret physicians’ orders, transcribe them into the pharmacy computer medication profile, fill individual patient drug bins, record doses, and acknowledge the filling of cassettes. You will also check and remove outdated medications and maintain competency in caring for patients of all age groups and developmental stages. Responsibilities + Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist + Ensure quality control maintenance in areas of work + Adhere to departmental procedures and policies + Read and interpret physicians’ orders + Transcribe orders into the pharmacy computer medication profile + Fill individual patient drug bins working from a medication fill list + Record doses for credit or charge + Acknowledge filling of the cassette by initialing work done + Check and remove outdated medications routinely + Keep appropriate records + Maintain competency in caring for patients of all age groups and developmental stages Essential Skills + Experience in outpatient and retail settings + Pharmacy Technician Certification + Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel + Good knowledge of office practices + Customer service orientation + Organization and diligence + Knowledge of medical terminology + Excellent grammar usage + Problem-solving skills + Effective communication with staff, physicians, and the general public Work Environment This role has openings at four locations: Downtown Charleston, Summerville, Dorchester, and Cross, South Carolina. The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on providing excellent healthcare access to underserved communities. The position requires a neat and friendly appearance and the ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff Pay rate: $18-20/hr Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
