Description
Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacyLabels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labelsParticipates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacyMay check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventoryPrepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compoundingMay process returned medications from the facility for credit or destructionAssists in the training of new employeesServices facility-based medication dispensing machinesSkills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust be a registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of TennesseeExperience in pharmacy setting with medical terminology, 6+ months requiredAble to recognize and identify medicationsTeam player, detail oriented, ability to multi-taskExperience with medications and filling prescriptions requiredDetails
