Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position involves working on moderately complex assignments where judgment and problem-solving skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of referrals and prescriptions, as well as communicating with providers to resolve any issues. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Responsibilities + Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received. + Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information. + Conduct initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing. + Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns. + Update concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of the referral. + Enter new provider information, such as National Provider Identifier, accurately into the system. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Pharmacy Technician certification + 2+ years of pharmacy operation experience + Experience in a call center environment + Strong data entry skills + Customer service skills + Competent in basic computer skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + NC Registered (NCBOP) preferred + High School Diploma required + Excellent organizational and time management skills + Multi-task oriented + Ability to effectively work with people + Conscientious and detail oriented + Flexible and adaptable + Healthcare experience preferred Work Environment This is a call center environment with no direct patient contact. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm EST, with weekends off and closures on major holidays. Initially, the role requires onsite presence, but if the position becomes permanent, the schedule will transition to a hybrid model. The office environment is professional and supportive, with a focus on providing personalized care to patients.
