Responsibilities The pharmacy technician specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others). They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are both documented and followed. Coordinates upgrade testing activities, education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area. Does related work, as required and, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assist in pharmacy operations. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School graduate or GED. 3+ year’s previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs). 1 year experience with identified specialty system/process. Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Current BLS Certification. Preferred Job Requirements: Associates/bachelor degree. PTCB/ASHP Specialty Credentials.
