The pharmacist will review and approve prescriptions, conduct medication assessments, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires clinical expertise and the ability to respond to drug-related questions and concerns. The ideal candidate will have a background in pharmacy, home infusion, hospital, or clinical monitoring settings. Responsibilities + Review and approve prescriptions filled by pharmacy technicians according to State Board of Pharmacy regulations. + Conduct medication assessments with patient medical information on all prescriptions. + Perform final checks on filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. + Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies regarding controlled substances and legend drugs. + Implement quality and cost containment strategies in dispensing and procurement activities. + Provide clinical expertise by responding to drug-related questions and concerns from internal and external customers. + Assess laboratory data and appropriate therapeutic drug ranges. + Assist pharmacy management with other responsibilities, special projects, and initiatives as needed. + Complete competency verification plans upon hire and annually thereafter. + Assist with on-call responsibilities as needed. + Act as the pharmacy leader in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge. + Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and patient/client care information in compliance with federal and state laws and HIPAA guidelines. Essential Skills + Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting. + Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy. + Licensed with State Boards of Pharmacy as necessary. + Excellent communication skills. + Proficient computer skills. + Ability to work well in a team environment. + Effective multi-tasking skills in a stressful environment. + Self-initiative in the workplace. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background in home infusion, hospital, or clinical monitoring settings. + Customer service skills. + Compounding experience. + Healthcare knowledge. Work Environment The work environment is a closed-door pharmacy with a team of 5 people. The setting is sterile, and the dress code is business casual with PPE required. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call duties on weekends every three weeks. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
