Position Summary: The Certified Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing quality member service in their certified content area through safe, structured class instruction. He/she will promote the consistent delivery of member/customer service.
Education, License & Cert: 1. Current certifications in the health and fitness field from a nationally recognized certifying agency required (ACE, AFAA). 2. Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Experience: 1. Minimum two years personal training, coaching, instructing in a health club environment preferred. 2. Must possess excellent communication, motivational, rhythm and timing skills. 3. Must possess competent knowledge of exercise principles, health risks and exercise class design.
Essential Functions: 1. Provides a quality training session by; beginning and ending on time, preparing lesson in advance, in accordance with the policies of the organization and the design of the individual, and fitness level. 2. Supervise each participant for safety. Correct participants professionally where necessary. 3. Professional conduct is required at all times either with members or with staff. 4. Exhibits good listening skills when member or staff issues arise, and problem solves professionally. Defers to Fitness Director if issues need further arbitration. 5. Maintains accurate attendance records. 6. Reports all incidences or injuries using the proper forms and submits to Fitness Director. 7. Maintains a neat, clean and orderly exercise environment. Returns all exercise equipment to proper storage. 8. Assists Fitness Director with attaining information regarding market need and participant wants.
Other Duties: 1. Travel for this position is sometimes required between Guthrie entities 2. Participation in community and employee engagement activities is required. 3.
