Job Summary:
Typically, expect some professional experience supporting sales in an administrative capacity. Knows and applies the principles of insurance to everyday situations. Typically, an individual contributor; works with occasional guidance or direct supervision. Performs more routine responsibilities and are primary points of contact for the clients they oversee. Develops coverage strategy and plan. Account Managers have their own accounts, but they may work with simpler or less demanding clients than more experienced managers. Required to have the necessary insurance license(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides advice and counsel on personal lines matters to an assigned book of business
Underwrites new business opportunities for existing and new clients, analyzing client needs, coverage forms and quotations
Initiates renewal process for existing clients and creates renewal strategy and processes renewals according to agency procedures
Conducts marketing, negotiates rates, reviews quotes and coverages for competitiveness and accuracy
Reviews and summarizes marketing results and prepares proposals
Finalizes proposals and presents to clients
Proactively addresses & promptly responds to client inquiries, resolves issues and provides expert advice.
Reviews policies for accuracy and reviews contracts
Identifies exposure to loss and recommends appropriate coverages
Issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence
Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary
Determine reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts
Support clients and agency partners with MA Registry of Motor Vehicles document preparation and transactions.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent is required
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the personal insurance industry or similar role, required
Willingness to continuously learn and pursue industry specific designations
Technology Skills:
Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Applied Epic Agency Management experience preferred but not required
SinglePoint/Boston Software rating experience preferred but not required
Other Qualifications:
Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members
Self-motivated and driven
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance
Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills
Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy
The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
