Permit Specialist

Osmose is seeking a Permit Specialist this role supports our field operations by preparing, submitting, monitoring, and facilitating applications for required state and local (county, municipal) permits. The role requires routine interaction and coordination with government agencies and Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Delivery, and Legal teams. Takes daily work direction from the Permit Specialist II.
Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Delivery in the preparation and timely submittal of permit applications to ensure compliance and maintain continuity of operations. All aspects of permitting must conform to applicable state and/or local regulations and customer contract specifications.
+ Serve as liaison and maintain open communications between Osmose, customer, and government agencies on permitting matters. Build and maintain positive relations with agency and customer points-of-contact.
+ Monitor application status, with respect to legal and operational deadlines, and provide internal customers with status updates; coordinate the resolution of any discrepancies, issues, or other obstacles to receiving permits.
+ Submit related state One Call utility locating tickets, if requested.
+ Track and provide accurate billing information (application and permit fees, hours, etc.) for customer invoicing.
+ Maintain documentation related to permitting (applications, sketches, supporting information, invoices, payments, records of communication, final permits, etc.
Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Customer service skills and experience working in an office-setting.
+ Previous experience managing and prioritizing multiple work assignments with strict deadlines.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
