**Job Title:** Per Diem Clinical Nurse - PACU (P4B) **Work Schedule:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, including weekends **Department:** Transition Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) **Summary:** Join the Transition PACU (P4B) team at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Per Diem Clinical Nurse. Our unit is known for its strong sense of teamwork, clinical excellence, and support for professional growth. **Ideal Candidate:** + Minimum of 4 years of recent PACU or ICU nursing experience + Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills + Calm and effective under pressure, especially in emergency situations + Skilled communicator with patients, families, and care teams + Actively pursues professional development and excellence in care **Key Responsibilities:** + Deliver safe, high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU and Non-OR Recovery areas + Provide accurate documentation and effective discharge teaching + Serve as a clinical resource and liaison for families + Maintain ACLS certification; obtain PALS within 6 months of hire + Adhere to ASPAN standards and institutional protocols to ensure patient safety + Respond confidently to emergencies such as malignant hyperthermia and cardiac/respiratory events + Participate in shared governance, unit projects, and evidence-based initiatives **Education** Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. **Experience** Required: One year of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred: 4+ years of ICU or PACU clinical nursing experience **Licensure/Certification** Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
