Per Diem Nurse - Float Pool (Outpatient Clinics)

Position Summary

City of Hope is seeking versatile and dedicated Clinical Nurses to join our Float Pool department, specializing in cancer treatment. As a Float Pool Nurse, you will be an essential asset to our team, providing flexible nursing support across outpatient oncology clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration, patient education, and symptom management. This role requires a nurse who can adapt quickly to different clinical environments, ensuring the highest standards of care for oncology patients. This opportunity is for per diem, with a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required. The position is for 8-hour shifts and designated for the day shift. The per diem flat rate for this position is $75.97/hr. This position is also eligible for a unit differential up to $5.50/hr and weekend differential up to $13.37/hr.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in various outpatient clinics and infusion centers. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments according to physician orders and protocols.Monitor patient responses to treatments and report any adverse reactions or significant changes in patient condition to the medical team.Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and self-care strategies.Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.Perform assessments, including reviewing lab results, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient symptoms to identify potential complications.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).Current California RN licenseMinimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient settingBasic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart AssociationONS certification preferred, but can be obtained during the orientation period
