Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Lactation Specialist.
In this role, the successful candidate In this role the successful candidate will be an expert member of the perinatal health care team who is knowledgeable skilled and experienced in lactation and breastfeeding management Provides education assistance and support to breastfeeding women and infants in accordance to breastfeeding regulatory/professional standards and public health initiatives
Job Responsibilities:
Performs a complete evaluation of the breastfeeding mother and infants ability to latch Collaborates with the health care team to implement a plan of care for the breastfeeding mother and infant Documents in Epic all lactation consults using lactation documentation Considers the needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups and cultures Serves as a support and resource for the education Womens and Children staff and other health professionals Works collaboratively with outpatient services to support and educate expectant and new mothers Provides orientation and ongoing staff development programs related to breastfeeding Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into performance responsibilities Functions as a respectful member of the health care team Promotes own professional growth and development Educates parents on all aspects of infant feeding Analyzes information to identify any concerns and/or problems experienced by the mother and infantMinimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a To qualify you must have a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners I B L C E Minimum of two years lactation consultant experience Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills effective communication skills and creative problem solving ability Weekends and Evenings preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60.00 – $60.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
