Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem-Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for routine culture identification and susceptibility of microbes isolated from clinical specimens and or antibody detection or other techniques. Data processing instrument operation QC also required.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs routine microbiological/immunological testing of specimens on technologist levelChecks specimens for accuracy and appropriate containersCorrectly subcultures to specific media for optimal recovery of microbesPossesses ability to identify presence of microbes by culture antibody or other meansPossesses ability to perform antibiotic susceptibilities if applicableAble to accurately interpret record results of testingCan differentiate normal abnormal resultsReports promptly via computer or telephoneReviews results consults appropriate reference sources when neededConsults with superiors to assist interpretation when necessaryPerforms Quality Control measures to ensure accuracy of resultsPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
NYSDOH Licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory TechnologistBachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from a program registered by the NYS Department of Education or Bachelor's Degree in the major of biology chemistry or physical sciences from an accredited college or university or education requirement grandfathered by the NYSOPOne year experience in a clinical laboratory completion of an internship at a qualified institution is acceptableEffective Interpersonal Communication skills requiredQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $57 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
