How you make a difference

The Pediatrician provides direct medical care to infants, children, and adolescents within a correctional or institutional setting. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating illnesses, administering preventative care, and supporting patients' physical and mental development. This role involves collaboration with parents or guardians, supervision of clinical policies, and participation in on-call coverage. The ideal candidate is licensed, experienced, and committed to delivering compassionate care in a secure environment. Prior experience in correctional healthcare is preferred.



Key Responsibilities

Conduct physical exams, diagnose medical conditions, and monitor patient development

Provide treatment, medication, and emergency care for a range of pediatric illnesses

Advise families on hygiene, diet, and disease prevention

Oversee pediatric policies, participate in chart audits, and ensure quality standards

Provide 24/7 on-call support and collaborate with healthcare teams for integrated care



Qualifications & Requirements EDUCATIONMedical degree in medicine from an accredited school.Completion of a U.S.-based residency program required.EXPERIENCETwo (2) years of direct work experience preferred.Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff, and philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSLicensed to practice as a physician or pediatrician in the state in which the facility is located.Professional license must remain on file at all times at the facility where services are rendered.
