As a Solid Tumor / Neuro-Oncology Nurse with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, you’ll have the opportunity to serve on the cutting edge of cancer treatment. From administering tried-and-true chemotherapy to spearheading the implementation of Phase I study drugs, you’ll be deeply engaged in innovative, hands-on work with some of our most critical patients, and with the help of a tight-knit team of nurses, PCAs, and coordinators, you’ll partner with patients and their families to navigate treatment, celebrate victories, and serve as a source of strength through setbacks. Night shift Minimum Education and/or Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, preferred as applicable. Minimum Experience: Minimum Requirement: BSN required with completion of 18 months of clinical nursing experience. St. Jude or other RN experience required. Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills. Some experience in pediatric or oncology nursing. Working knowledge of research protocols. Strong knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit. Strong knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served. Strong ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient’s status. Strong clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills. Proven performance in earlier role. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law: (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state. (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
