Pediatric Occupational Therapy - Part Time

General Summary

The BY YOUR SIDE Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain therapy plans that address sensory processing, attention, executive functioning, fine motor, gross motor, self help, ADLs, adaptive play and leisure skills.

Oversight for Occupational Therapy direct services will be provided by the Manager - Speech and Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for defining goals, collecting data, establishing treatment plans, and communicating with families. Ability to implement skills obtained during trainings and adhere to the companies’ goals and policies.

This is a part time position and hours of work and days vary based on the needs of clients/business

Job Description

Participate in an initial multidisciplinary evaluation process to help evaluate new clients. Evaluate, create, and maintain a comprehensive therapy plan for each client. Provide individual and group therapy to clients focusing on a variety of areas including but not limited to: fine and gross motor, sensory processing, feeding and social skills. Interact with and educate caregivers on helpful therapy approaches and in-home strategies to facilitate generalization of skills. Provide team-based, collaborative approach for therapy planning and implementation. Maintain current Illinois license, NBCOT certification, and necessary continuing education requirements. Adhere to the ethical standards of the profession- AOTA and ILOTA guidelines and ensure HIPAA Compliance. Supervise support personnel COTAs/OTAs and interns when necessary. Other Duties and special projects as assigned.

Direct Therapy Responsibilities

Provide a minimum of 10 hours of therapy per week. Maintain timely professional documentation of clinical notes for direct patient care provided. Completion of documentation for all pre-authorizations, initial evaluations, assessments, insurance reports, and progress reports.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy. State Licensed Occupational Therapist. Must complete and maintain certification in CPI training (Will train on site). CPR/First Aid Certified or will train on site. Knowledge of discipline specific assessment tools and procedures Ability to think critically, solve problems, and deliver therapy independently. Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute on deadlines and produce high quality deliverables with attention to details. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
