Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of accurate financial statements and disclosures based on actual results; consolidate, analyse and report financials in compliance with reporting requirements.
Responsible for the development and implementation of internal controls; monitor effectiveness of internal controls; primary contact for internal and external auditors.
Develop specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in finance and internal controls; serves as best practice/quality resource; has knowledge and understanding of latest developments in finance and accounting under US GAAP and local GAAP; and contributes towards strategy and policy development, where required.
Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; explains difficult or complex concepts; works to build consensus, developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Leads simplification and finance transformation projects; impacts approach on projects, programs and ways of working in the functional area or affected business organization; improves quality of work outputs, and increases efficiency and effectiveness of own team.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve problems that impact the function; brings new perspective on existing issues and practices; uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations; uses internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Required Qualifications
This role requires significant experience in the Finance & Financial Reporting. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Strong analytical skills.
Clear thinking / strong problem-solving grasp new ideas quickly; take initiative to understand root causes of issues and development solutions; able to work independently; manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner; able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing.
Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
Proficiency in Japanese, and Business level of English
